Coupled with growing competitive pressures, ViaMichelin knew it needed a way to make their site stickier and empower viral activities. SolutionViaMichelin created a new section of the site called My Trips, a custom Plum Group. Wrapped in the look and feel of the ViaMichelin brand, My Trips enables users to share travel materials. Users can create itineraries, review restaurants and hotels, share travel options as wells photos and videos from their trips.

MobissimoCategory: TravelMobissimo is a travel search engine with a simple mission: improve the way people find travel information. The Mobissimo search engine performs real-time web queries on a comprehensive list of trip planning sites and aggregates the results. ChallengeMobissimo wanted to build a community of users that would come together to share travel know how, great vacation spots, airline deals, restaurants, and exotic beaches. Mobissimo was looking for ways to keep its visitors engaged longer and drive incremental customer acquisition. SolutionThe solution for Mobissimo was MobiShare. MobiShare provides a fully integrated Group experience on the Mobissimo website. Travelers can share anything they find on the web as well as upload vacation photos and videos, discuss hot hotels, share and discuss restaurant experiences, right on the Mobissimo website.

MITCategory: Education & ResearchThe Interactive Cinema and Media Fabrics group at the MIT Media Lab focuses on a new paradigm: the "media fabric" - a semi-intelligent organism where lines of communication, threads of meaning, chains of causality, and streams of consciousness converge and intertwine to form a rich tapestry of creative story potentials, meaningful real-time dialogues, social interactions, and personal or communal art- and story-making. ProjectConfectionary is an interactive storytelling research project developed as part of PhD thesis in the Media Fabrics group at the MIT Media Lab in 2007. Confectionary was created as a Flash-based interactive storytelling environment wrapped around a Plum Group.
